About the Performance
Beethoven's Ninth Symphony stands as one of the greatest achievements in Western music. Composed when Beethoven was completely deaf, this masterwork transcends its era to deliver a timeless message of joy, brotherhood, and the triumph of the human spirit.
The symphony's final movement features Friedrich Schiller's "Ode to Joy," set to Beethoven's soaring melody that has become a universal anthem of celebration and unity.
